Worship Orientation
Worship is a vital part of expressing our gratitude to God for His love and grace, and for Who He is! At Albany First Assembly you will find a couple of distinct worship opportunities.
Sundays, 9:00amIf you enjoy a blended format of contemporary choruses and hymns, this service is for you!
Sundays, 10:45amIf you prefer a more upbeat, progressive worship experience, “The Point” is for you!
Whether you come to “The Bridge” or “The Point” both services will include assembling together (Hebrews 10:25), with the major portion of time dedicated to relevant, balanced, Bible-based preaching and teaching (Matthew 4:23; Acts 15:35).
In Psalm 150, the Bible commands, "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord." At Albany First Assembly, it's exciting to join together and worship the Lord in a dynamic and personal way (John 4:23-24). Our worship includes singing (Psalm 9:2,11; Ephesians 5:18-19), music played on many kinds of instruments (Psalm 150:3-5), clapping and lifting our hands (1 Timothy 2:8; Psalm 47:1), and simply freely praising the Lord (Psalm 103:1; Psalm 95:6). Worship also includes the offering and missions giving (1 Corinthians 16:2; Malachi 3:10; Romans 10:14-15).
Prayer (Matthew 7:7-8; 1 Timothy 2:1-2) is also an important part of our services. We pray together (Acts 4:24), in groups (Matthew 18:19-20), with individuals (James 5:16), for healing (James 5:14-15), and in other tongues (Ephesians 6:18).
The Holy Spirit is our guide and we believe in the orderly manifestations of the Holy Spirit during worship services by leadership-recognized individuals (1 Corinthians 12:8-10; 1 Corinthians 14:26,40). Water baptism (Romans 6:3-4) and communion (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) are also observed during specific scheduled services.
Please, feel free to participate with us during any of our worship services. Come with an open heart and mind, and allow God to reveal Himself to you personally.
